In Falsus Mei Alder

She performs because she has to. Talk movies first.

Mei Alder Character Guide

Mei Alder is the other Akie High School protagonist, and she is built as Nia’s temperature opposite. Official age 16. She lives alone in a two-story maisonette. Rent and utilities are hers. The observer Comment calls her quiet, disinterested, frustrated, and — in a rare personal slip — “she reminds me of myself.” Admirable hobbies. Friendless.

Official voice

Music isn’t everything to me, no… or at least, I don’t want it to be. I perform, because I have to perform. Sure I like it but… let’s talk movies way before we talk about music.

Voice actor: Ran Haruka (春花らん).

A rhythm-game heroine who would rather discuss film than tracks is not an accident. In Falsus wants music to hurt because it is labor, not because it is a menu.

The 4AM card is a character document

Demo Card Integration screens name a Blueprint Mei: 4AM. The art is Mei in a blazer and headphones, working a mixer in a dim room, papers on the desk. Inspect stats in that capture include Iota Limit 2 (Max: 6), Power 600, Defence 1400, with a Discovery → Mastery rail. That illustration is how the game tells you what “lives alone and performs” looks like at 4 in the morning.

When you Integrate that card, you are not pulling a random SR. You are slotting a fragment of Mei’s life into an Encounter. Read card integration for the hex rules; come back here for why the art looks like a studio instead of a battlefield.

Classroom contrast with Nia

VN art puts Mei beside Nia Cana in a bright classroom, both collared. Nia peeks through her fingers. Mei’s expression is open, almost amused. The Bind still sits on her neck. Living alone did not exempt her from the world’s lie detector. It only exempted her from parents in the next room.

If you play Nia first, play Mei second. Same school, different weather. Then decide whether you need Ayame’s social painter energy or Iris’s swing-first rules.

Demo 0.3.0 called her out by name

The April 22, 2026 demo update added two new voiced Scenario entries. Community documentation centres those scenes on Mei and Iris. If your goal is “hear more of the novel,” Mei is an efficient pick after you update. That is still a sample, not her full route. Launch remains September 9.

How to play her without turning her into a music-game mascot

  1. Select Mei. Let her talk about movies. Do not skip the first scene to get to Cryogenic because Camellia is on the jacket.
  2. When the Encounter starts, remember she did not ask to be your chart mascot. Play MIN, listen, then raise difficulty.
  3. Open the Blueprint named after her if 0.3.0 is installed. Place Iota once. Notice the 4AM art. Close the lab.
  4. If you want more silent-reader energy after her dryness, jump to Story Étienne. If you want someone who enjoys people, jump to Ayame.

Who should start with Mei

Players who like competent, tired protagonists. Players who are tired of idol copy in music games. Players who already know they will live in the card lab and want the character whose demo card is a studio at 4AM.

Mei will not hold your hand. The Comment says friendless. The quote says she performs because she has to. Your job in the demo is to hear that without turning it into a headcanon essay. Official text is enough until the full Scenario ships.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for demo players and launch-week questions.

Does Mei attend the same school as Nia?

Yes. Both are enrolled in Akie High School per the official site.

Who voices Mei?

Ran Haruka (春花らん).

What is the Mei: 4AM card?

A demo Blueprint/card with studio art of Mei in headphones. It is a Card Integration object, not a separate minigame.

Is Mei the 'music' route because she performs?

She performs and refuses to let music be everything. Play her for that tension, not for bonus charts.
