Getting Started with In Falsus
A demo-first path from wishlist to your first honest MIN clear.
In Falsus is lowiro’s PC follow-up to Arcaea: a single-player rhythm game tied to a fully voiced Japanese visual novel and a hex-grid card crafter. The Steam full release is dated September 9, 2026. Until that unlock, the honest way to learn the game is the free demo, not a leaked chart dump or a mobile port rumor.
This page is the first-hour checklist. It does not replace the controls guide or the demo song list. It tells you which systems you must touch on day one and which systems you should leave alone until your hands stop fighting each other.
Install and first launch
Wishlist and install from Steam. The demo is a Windows 64-bit download. Official minimum specs sit around Windows 10, an Intel i5-7500 class CPU, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 980 class GPU, DirectX 11, and about 10 GB of disk. If your machine is closer to a handheld, read system requirements before you blame the chart.
On first boot, set the language. Steam lists English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese for interface and subtitles. Voices are Japanese. Then open audio settings and confirm your headphones are the output device. Rhythm games hide early misses in bad latency more often than in “bad skill.”
What the demo is trying to teach
The February 11, 2026 demo opened with five songs and a first look at Scenario. The April 22, 2026 update added voiced scenes for Mei and Iris, Deep Into The Vibe, and a playable Card Integration slice. That is still a slice. Official copy keeps repeating that the preview is a glimpse of world, gameplay, and systems — not a 70-song launch library.
Treat the demo as a tutorial island:
- Learn Floor notes on MIN.
- Learn that the mouse Field is a second judgement line, not decoration.
- Read enough Scenario to meet the five girls without hunting endings.
- Open one Blueprint so Iota is not a mystery word on launch day.
Skip speedrunning ULT. Skip FBD. The song wheel shows FBD as a locked tile even when MIN, EVO, and ULT already have numbers. That padlock is not a dare.
Your first session, step by step
- Finish whatever onboarding the build offers. Do not mash through the note explanation; the Field flicks are the part people rewind later.
- Open the song list. You should see jackets such as Cryogenic, Hyaloüyne, à la mode, MIRINAE, New Vision, and Sin Utopia depending on version. Pick the lowest MIN number you can see. Cryogenic’s wheel in current screenshots shows MIN 2 / EVO 5 / ULT 9.
- Play that MIN chart once with default keys. Default Floor binds are Left Shift, A, S, D, F, and Space. MIN uses a four-key subset so your hand can sit still.
- Watch the judgement popups. The playfield prints EXACT on well-timed hits. If you see anything else, slow down; do not raise difficulty.
- After one clear, open character select. The five icons are Nia, Mei, Ayame, Iris, and Story. The in-world clock on that screen (month, day, year 10277) is flavor, not a real-time event.
- If demo 0.3.0’s card lab is unlocked, place a tiny Iota shape on a Blueprint and hit Integrate once. Then leave. Crafting is a puzzle, not a gacha pull.
What not to do in hour one
Do not remap six keys into a piano layout before you understand MIN. Do not hold a drawing tablet “because the Field looks like osu!.” Do not chase a streamer’s FBD clip. Do not assume Arcaea muscle memory maps 1:1; the mouse Field is a new limb.
If your left hand cramps, you are probably trying to cover side lanes that MIN does not ask for. Go back to controls and keybind layouts.
How the three layers fit together
Rhythm charts are the verbs. Scenario is the sentence. Cards are the adjectives. An Encounter is a story beat that happens to be a song: you are not grinding a pack, you are contesting or helping someone the protagonists just met. Card stats (Power, Defence, Range, Iota Limit) sit beside the accuracy score rather than replacing it. That is why the HUD can show a huge performance number and a smaller Encounter score with stars.
If that sentence was too abstract, play one MIN chart, read one classroom scene, and inspect one Blueprint. Then the card guide and Encounter guide will make sense.
After the first hour
Pick a protagonist from the character hub so Scenario has a face. Use beginner songs when MIN 2 feels solved and EVO 5 does not. Bookmark release notes for September 9, not a random leak account.
The official demo trailer above is the tone check: five songs, a first tale, and a reminder that the full game is still ahead. Play the demo like a tutorial. Save mastery for launch week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for demo players and launch-week questions.
Can I play the full story in the demo?
No. The demo is a Scenario sample plus a short song list. Use the demo walkthrough for the current slice.
Should I start on EVO because I play Arcaea?
Start on MIN anyway. The mouse Field is the new skill, not the Floor trills. See difficulties.
Does the demo progress carry into the full game?
lowiro has not published a save-transfer promise. Play the demo to learn, not to pre-farm Iota.
Is this a Roblox game or a live-service with codes?
Neither. It is a single-player Steam title. Official channels are collected on links.
